CLOSE QUARTERS BATTLE

CQB (Close Quarters Battle) in airsoft refers to a style of gameplay that emphasizes fast-paced, close-range combat. This type of airsoft scenario typically takes place in confined spaces, such as buildings, rooms, or dense indoor areas, where quick reflexes, tactical movement, and effective use of cover are crucial for success.

Key characteristics of CQB in airsoft include:

Shotguns can also be used in certain CQB settings, providing powerful close-range shots, although they have a limited range.

Indoor or Urban Environments: CQB takes place in environments like abandoned buildings, airsoft arenas designed for indoor combat, or urban settings with narrow hallways, staircases, and rooms. These settings limit visibility and require players to be extra cautious of corners and doorways.

Tactics: Due to the confined spaces, players need to rely heavily on tactics such as room clearing, close-quarter shooting, quick movements, and using communication with teammates. Flanking, quick peeking, and engaging targets in rapid succession are common strategies.

Weapon Choices: In CQB, players often choose weapons optimized for tight spaces:

SMGs (e.g., MP5, M4s with short barrels) are a common choice due to their compact size and rapid fire rate.

Pistols are also preferred for their maneuverability in close quarters, especially in tight hallways or when moving through rooms.
